Regents’ Scholars Initiative

The Regents’ Scholars Initiative (RSI) is a learning community for students in the College of Liberal Arts. Typically, the community has about 80 students, many of whom are racially underrepresented at Texas A&M. The learning experience for students focuses on academic success skills, engagement with the college and university, and developing leadership skills. Students also attend small weekly communities led by peer mentors, who are upper-level former RSI students themselves. The college RSI program includes activities outside the classroom, attending local events such as guest lectures, and an optional study abroad experience to Costa Rica during spring break, so that students can will learn about the value of international experiences and selfless service as they work on community outreach projects.
