Bio

Ahmet received his BA in Anthropology and Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2022, specializing in Psychological Anthropology and Cultural Psychology. His undergraduate thesis focused on the transgenerational trauma, assimilation, and worldviews of the second-generation Bosnian Americans due to the aftermath of the Bosnian War and their parents’ immigration to the United States.

Ahmet is currently a first-year Ph.D. student in Cultural Anthropology at Texas A&M University. His current interests include immigration and refugee studies, psychological anthropology, religious movements, and generational studies. Aside from his Ph.D., he is also working with a group of researchers on the idea of second language acquisition and people’s worldviews through gender with linguistic anthropology, cognitive science, and linguistics lenses.
