Bethany received her BA in Art History and Archaeology and her BS in Music Education (K-12) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and her MA in Ancient Near Eastern and Egyptian Studies with a focus in Egyptian archaeology from New York University. She has participated in nautical fieldwork in Michigan and Spain and terrestrial work in Luxor, Egypt, and Prastio-Mesorotsos, Cyprus. In addition to her coursework, she is working toward both the GIS and Conservation certifications and is interested in incorporating photogrammetry and 3D modeling with public outreach and accessibility of museum collections. Bethany’s research interests include Bronze Age Egyptian archaeology, Bronze Age Cypriot archaeology, ports and harbors, Red Sea seafaring, and maritime iconography.
