Bio

Bethany received her BA in Art History and Archaeology and her BS in Music Education (K-12) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and her MA in Ancient Near Eastern and Egyptian Studies with a focus in Egyptian archaeology from New York University. She recently dived on the Bronze Age shipwreck at Kumluca, Turkey and has participated in additional nautical fieldwork in Michigan and Spain as well as terrestrial work in Luxor, Egypt, and Prastio-Mesorotsos, Cyprus. In addition to her coursework, she earned both the graduate GIS and Conservation certifications and is interested in incorporating photogrammetry and 3D modeling with public outreach and accessibility of museum collections. Bethany’s research interests include Bronze Age Egyptian archaeology, Bronze Age Cypriot archaeology, ports and harbors, Red Sea seafaring, and nautical iconography. She is currently the Assistant Editor of the INA Quarterly.
