In 2011, Chase Beck began his PhD studies in Archaeology at Texas A&M. Chase received his B.S. in Biology from Hillsdale College in 2007, and graduated with an M.S. in Biology from East Tennessee State University in 2010. His focus is in Palynology andMicro- and Macrobotanical remains. Chase’s interests include the origins and spread of agriculture in North America as well as Native American land management practices. His previous experience is in the Southeastern U.S. where he worked on Late Archaic-Early Woodland transition rockshelter sites in the Upper Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee.
