Crystal Dozier is a PhD student, working to understand past cooking technologies. Her interests include fermentation technologies, feasting, nutrition, economic complexity/inequality, and ancient diets using experimental archaeology and micro-botanical analyses within Pre-Columbian contexts. Crystal is also committed to reflective teaching practices within anthropology and archaeology. She graduated from the University of Chicago, with Honors, in 2012. She has worked on a myriad of academic and contract archaeological projects in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and Peru.
