Bio
Kevin received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1984 and a MS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Texas – Austin in 1987.
While working in the petrochemical business as an engineer for several years, Kevin partook of studies in the social sciences. In August 2015 he completed a MA in Sociology and a MA in Cross Cultural Studies in December 2018 at the University of Houston Clear Lake. He also completed a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies from University of Houston Clear Lake in August 2015 and in African American Studies from University of Houston (Central Campus) in May 2017.
Kevin’s academic and research interests are in Africana Studies, Women’s Studies, Indigenous Studies, Urban Ethnography, and African Migrations to the United States. Mixed methodology utilizing quantitative and qualitative tools is his favored approach to research. Conflict mediation and policy formation are among Kevin’s interests as well.
