History grad leads by example with scholarship endowment
Inspired by the university’s Lead By Example capital campaign, Sarah Hlavinka McConnell ‘86 and husband, Mark, continue her family's legacy of philanthropy, giving $1 million to the Texas A&M Foundation to endow the Mark and Sarah Hlavinka McConnell ‘86 Liberal Arts Legacy Scholarship.

Looking beyond the finish line: Donor hopes scholarship broadens student perspectives
Jack Benson '63 and his wife, Carol, have together established the Carol A. and Jack L. Benson Study Abroad Scholarship to help Liberal Arts students travel internationally to interact with people of different cultures and perspectives. This gift will have a significant impact as the College of Liberal Arts is a leader in study abroad at Texas A&M, sending between 800 and 900 students to other countries every year.
