Bio

Alaina Spiers is a doctoral student in communication at Texas A&M. She conducts research on stigmatized health issues, campaigns, and interventions. Within these topics, she focuses on pelvic floor disorders (PFDs), maternal care, and stigma management. She has received top paper awards for her research on these topics. Alaina feels strongly about applying her research and has worked with multiple medical associations to create interventions and campaigns. Furthermore, she is a visiting scientist at Houston Methodist Hospital’s Urogynecology clinic and co-runs a PFD research lab and the University of Houston.
