Laura believes the primary role of any Public Relations or Marketing professional is storyteller. Throughout her career path she has honed that skill, and she plans to continue developing her storytelling role in the future.
As a Communications Officer for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children she tells the stories of the hospital’s patients through: Media Relations, video production, writing, graphic design and social media. She works with the other members of her 20-person team and an outside agency to help build the hospital’s brand while navigating the unique opportunities and challenges of a non-profit hospital.
Prior to arriving at Scottish Rite Hospital, Laura was a marketing specialist at two bike shops in College Station and Houston. She graduated from Texas A&M in 2012 with a degree in Communication. Laura is fiercely competitive and will happily accept almost any challenge. Interestingly, she loses these challenges frequently but concludes that a blind willingness to continue competing after loss is a good skill for a career in Public Relations.
