Bio

Pamela’s areas of study involve organizational communication, rhetorics of power, and interpersonal communication.

Pamela Valenzuela is a third year PhD student from Corpus Christi, TX.  Her research focuses on Organizational Communication with an emphasis on the relational approaches and tensions of power within supervisor-subordinate dyads. Pamela received a B.S. in Marketing from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (2006), a B.A. in Advertising from Texas State University (2014), and an M.A in Communication from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (2018).  She has experience teaching various introductory and advanced public speaking and negotiation courses and has held several industry positions involving advertising, marketing, and administration in higher education. She is currently a certified basic civil mediator in the state of Texas, approved by the Texas Mediators Roundtable.
