Bio

Sara Rowe earned her B.A. (2010) and M.A. (2012) in Communication from Texas A&M University. Inspired by bell hook’s concept of engaged pedagogy, Ms. Rowe’s teaching philosophy foregrounds authenticity, community, and self-actualization. Ms. Rowe teaches public speaking, interviewing skills, interpersonal communication, leadership and conflict management classes. Ms. Rowe is a TMCA credentialed mediator with experience in civil and family mediation. She has served on the Faculty Senate since 2019 and is the current Liberal Arts caucus leader. As course director for COMM 203: Public Speaking, Ms. Rowe supervises all instructors of that course, as well as providing training and support for new graduate teaching assistants.
