The Glasscock Center announces COVID-19 Micro-Grants in the Arts and Humanities
The Glasscock Center invites proposals for a micro-grant program meant to encourage the documentation and creative interpretation of people’s experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Up to ten $500 micro-grants will be awarded, and applications will be open on a rolling basis. Any Texas A&M University student, faculty or staff member is eligible to apply for this grant.
The purpose of this program is to support the TAMU community in developing shareable arts and humanities-based works engaging their experience of the current pandemic. Applicants should write a one-page proposal, which includes a brief project justification, timeline, and description of deliverables. If you anticipate expenses connected to this project, please include a brief budget. Outcomes may include, but are not limited to:
- Artistic representations such as
- Film
- Photography
- Sculpture
- Drawing
- Painting
- Representations through language such as
- Journals
- Diaries
- Poetry
- Song
- Short, accessible essays
- Observations of the natural world
All funded projects must be carried out individually, in self-isolation and adhering to the advice and requirements of both TAMU and the Centers for Disease Control. Funds will be distributed according to University guidelines. Projects must be available to share in a forum yet to be determined.
