Glasscock Summer Research Fellows 2022

DEADLINE: Thursday, 31 March 2022, 5:00 p.m.

In order to provide research support given continuing effects on research activities from the pandemic, the Glasscock Center is offering a new funding opportunity to support both faculty and graduate students in affiliated departments. Three (3) grants are available to faculty for the purpose of hiring a graduate student to assist with research. The grant provides funds to pay the graduate student for work as a full-time GAR during the 3 summer months, (to match the student's home department salary rate) not to exceed $6,300. In addition, we will provide funds up to $2,700 to cover the 6 hours of tuition and fees for which GARs must be enrolled. The purpose of the grant is to support faculty and graduate research from within the Texas A&M community. Faculty applying for this grant should employ the student over the summer of 2022.  We ask that applicants for all Glasscock Center grants read our Climate and Inclusion Statement here.

Criteria:

  • Faculty applicant should demonstrate the need for research support to make progress on a project that could otherwise not be completed.
  • Application must address the significance of the research project within the field.
  • Application should address how the work will benefit the graduate student and present a clear plan for how the graduate student will support the research
  • The faculty member is responsible for issuing the call for applications and the selection of the graduate student.

Eligibility: Tenured and Tenure-track faculty in affiliated departments are eligible to apply.

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS: Faculty applicant should supply their current 2-page CV
