Wednesday, November 20, 2019 | 11:00-12:30 | GLAS 311
The Book Brunch is an opportunity for faculty and students to discuss the prize-winning book, Temp: How American Work, American Business, and the American Dream Became Temporary, in anticipation of the author's visit to campus in March 2020.
The annual Susanne M. Glasscock Book Prize celebrates interdisciplinary research in the humanities by honoring a path-breaking book published in the previous year. The 20th Book Prize focuses on a monograph informed by academic expertise but with broader appeal to a wider than academic audience.
The Melbern G. Glasscock Center for Humanities Research at Texas A&M University has awarded the Twentieth Annual Susanne M. Glasscock Humanities Book Prize for Interdisciplinary Scholarship to Louis Hyman, for his book, "Temp: How American Work, American Business, and the American Dream Became Temporary", published by Penguin Random House in 2018.
