Mapping Victory – A New Digital Resource

Mapping Victory: US Army Souvenir Maps from the European Theater of Operations, 1944-46

Dr. Adam Seipp, Professor of History, announces the launch of a new digital resource of souvenir maps that depict U.S. Army operations throughout Europe during WWII. This project is a collaborative effort by faculty, students, and staff from the Texas A&M Department of History, University Libraries, Center of Digital Humanities Research, College of Arts and Sciences, and Melbern G. Glasscock Center for Humanities Research.

In the summer of 2025, Dr. Seipp led a seminar in the Undergraduate Glasscock Scholars program entitled, "Mapping Victory: American Soldiers, Maps, and World War II in Europe." Some of the students in his seminar were involved in the development of this project.

"The Undergraduate Glasscock Scholars program was indispensable in bringing this project to life.  It gave me the chance to work with a group of bright and motivated students who challenged me, and each other, to sharpen the ideas and craft a vision."
