Moved by Modernity: How Development Shapes Migration in Rural Ethiopia

In this book talk, Kerilyn Schewel will offer a lecture on her new book, Moved by Modernity (Oxford University Press, 2025). The book challenges assumptions that we need to "develop" the countries migrants are leaving and addresses the root causes of migration. All are welcome to join what is sure to be a lively conversation about migration today.

Faculty host: Dr. Benjamin Davis benjamin.davis@tamu.edu

The Glasscock Short-Term Visiting Fellowships program allows Texas A&M faculty to bring distinguished scholars, artists, and performers to campus for a period of five days, wherein the fellow will engage with faculty and students and deliver a public presentation.
