UGS Faculty Application

In 2025–26, the Undergraduate Glasscock Scholars program will welcome its 14th cohort of Faculty Directors and Scholars. UGS provides high-impact undergraduate research experiences in the humanities through an intensive summer research seminar and fall semester research showcase. Participation in UGS sharpens students’ research and presentation skills, positioning them for competitive applications for graduate and professional school.

Scholars enroll in a two-week intensive seminar taught by their respective Faculty Directors and complete a series of writing workshops created especially for this program through the University Writing Center. At the beginning of the fall semester, Scholars will present their projects at a research showcase sponsored by the Glasscock Center.

The Undergraduate Glasscock Scholars (UGS) program is the result of a collaboration between the Melbern G. Glasscock Center for Humanities Research (GCHR), the University Writing Center (UWC), and LAUNCH Undergraduate Research. For 2025–26, UGS is financially supported by the GCHR, the College of Arts & Sciences, the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, and the Cantú Endowment.
