Advising

The Director of Undergraduate Studies oversees the undergraduate program.  The DUGS chairs the Undergraduate Committee, oversees undergraduate advising and the undergraduate curriculum and serves as the department representative to the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Instruction Committee. Dr. Brian Rouleau (brianr@tamu.edu) currently serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies.

The Advising Office provides basic information on the major and minor programs, what courses need to be taken, and what requirements need to be filled. Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor on a regular basis, preferably at least once a semester.

Advising Hours

Students utilize the NAVIGATE portal to make an appointment.

Students can access the online appointment system by logging into: https://tamu.campus.eab.com/home. After you have selected your time, you will come to a final screen and you must scroll all the way down on that final screen to confirm your appointment. Once your meeting is confirmed, you will receive an auto-reply email with instructions on how to access the advisor’s Zoom meeting room for your advising session.

When you click on an advisor’s Zoom room link for a drop-in advising session, you will enter a virtual waiting room. The advisor will admit you once it is your turn to be seen, as students that join the drop-in advising sessions are seen on a first come, first serve basis.

Virtual Drop-In Advising Hours for History advising are available on Mondays, from 10:00AM-12:00PM (CST). The Zoom link for Robyn Konrad is: https://tamu.zoom.us/j/4059260437. There is no password.
