Join the Film Studies Program and the Department of International Studies in celebrating the Fellini Centenary this February with two exciting events. On February 2nd, we will be offering free tickets to the first 100 people who contact us for a screening of Federico Fellini’s cinematic masterpiece “8 ½”. A must on the big screen, this presentation of the film will be held at the historic Queen Theatre in downtown Bryan. Alessandro Carrera (distinguished Professor of Italian Studies and World Cultures at the University of Houston and author of “Fellini’s Eternal Rome”), will be our guest and will introduce the film and lead a Q&A afterward. The screening is at 6 p.m. To reserve your free tickets (up to four) while supplies last, write tamufilmstudies@gmail.com.

Then, on campus on February 3rd, Dr. Carrera will be presenting a 45 minute lecture, “Fellini’s Films and the Impact of Fellini on World Culture,” in CHEM 100 at 5:45 p.m. Dr. Carrera is one of the foremost academic experts on Fellini, one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, whose work is more popular than ever on the 100th anniversary of his birth.  For more information on either of these events, contact Daniel Humphrey at danhumphrey@tamu.edu.
