Undergraduate Minor Requirements
Students must successfully complete 15 credit hours with a grade of C or better, including:
- 6 hours of upper division (300-400) level courses
- Select 2 of the following courses: AFST 201 (Introduction to Africana Studies), or AFST 302 (Gateway Course to Africana Studies), or AFST 481 (Senior Seminar)
- Select 1 of the following courses: AFST 200-499, or POLS 320, or SOCI 319/SPMT 319
To declare a minor in Africana Studies a student will need to contact Dr. Alain Lawo-Sukam (lawosukam@tamu.edu) and must setup an appointment with the Africana Studies Advisor in the Undergraduate Programs Office. The student may set up an appointment by going to https://tamu.campus.eab.com/home. When selecting a location, please use LA-Undergraduate Programs Office (COKE Building) and for the appointment type, select LA-General Advising.
