Bio

Juan Carlos Galdo holds a Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Colorado at Boulder (2003). His interests include contemporary Latin American literature and literary theory. He is the author of Alegoría y nación en la novela peruana del siglo XX (Lima: Instituto de Estudios Peruanos, 2008). He has been a contributor to the Encyclopedia of Latin American History and Culture, 2nd Edition. (New York: Charles Scribner’s Sons, 2008). His other publications include articles in Revista Iberoamericana, Revista de Crítica Literaria Latinoamericana, Chasqui, The Colorado Review of Hispanic Studies, Romance Review, Lexis, among other journals. His first novel, Estación Cuzco (Lima: PEISA) was published in 2008. Dr. Galdo regularly teaches advanced composition, Hispanic literature and culture, and literary theory.
