What are you doing now?

“Around graduating I got an internship through the PPIP program at the Peace Corps which was the best experience I ever had. I loved DC and the Aggie network there is huge, I really want to move back there one day. Once I wrapped up at the Peace Corps I took a fellowship at the Governors communication office at the Texas State Capitol in Austin ( my hometown). This led me to the private sector, where I am now, at KPMG. I began my career at KPMG in their international relations department and am now transitioned to Advisory consulting. I am so blessed to have had such a diverse set of jobs, and I owe it all to the skills I gathered at A&M! INTS was the best major for me as it let me lean into my passions and explore outside of them as well. INTS helps give you a holistic view of the world and an understanding of different cultures, these skills are transferable into any field you could jump in. I was able to use classes I took as reference points during interviews which I never imagined, but that’s how relevant my studies were to the times around us. Thanks to the advisors, my professors and my classes I felt ready to enter the workforce.”

What advice would you give current and future students?

“Keep up with your language! We all know it’s so easy to lose track of language as soon as life gets busy. Listen to music in your language, read literature in your language, anything to keep your skills fresh. They will help you when you get into the real world and will help you stand out when applying for jobs.”
