Amy Pond is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Texas A&M University. Her research combines political and economic theories to help explain market liberalization, the effects of economic sanctions, redistribution and inequality, as well as regime change. Her work is situated at the nexus of political economy, development, international relations and comparative politics. She uses formal models to identify challenges to economic and political development and to derive empirical propositions. She completed her PhD in Political Science at the University of Michigan in 2015.
