LatinTX Programs and Opportunities
What Does LatinTX Fund?
There are a host of supporting/scaffolding structures and positions being funded by the grant. The key things of interest to a broad constituency of stakeholders are:
- Faculty Cluster: 1 tenured associate and 5 tenure-track assistant professors in humanities fields who situate their scholarship within the scope of the grant. New hires will have a reduced teaching load their first 2 years and receive $100,000 startup from the grant (among other benefits).
- Community Engagement Infrastructure: LatinTX funds a community engagement staff position and builds a community-university network and Community Advisory Board (CAB) to support community-engaged research. Includes additional funded opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students.
- Grants and Fellowships: LatinTX supports numerous semester-long dissertation fellowships, faculty fellowships, and other research grants for faculty and students.
- Programming: LatinTX supports invited speakers, artistic residencies, and local workshops to bolster researchers’ knowledge and interest in the grant’s themes.
