Bio

Jalia L. Joseph is a first-generation doctoral student in the Department of Sociology at Texas A&M University, obtaining an additional certificate in Africana Studies. Their primary research areas include race, gender, social movements, and collective memory, specifically focusing on Black people of marginalized genders’ experiences with political and protest engagement. Their research appears in Women’s Studies in Communication, American Behavioral Scientist, Black Feminist Sociology: Perspectives and Praxis, and Ethnic and Racial Studies.
