Graduate Student Annual Review
Graduate students are ranked every year with respect to awarding departmental assistantships according to the following four criteria:
- Progress in the program
- Grade point ratio
- Teaching/research assistant evaluation
- Professional activity (research and teaching)
These annual evaluations:
- Measure progress and guides conversations between graduate students and their mentors
- Collect information about performance in the program
- Provide information to the Sociology Department to distribute assistantships
- Guide committees to nominate students for fellowships
- Supply students with letters of guaranteed funding an overview of their progress
