The TXRDC Welcomes Our New Administrator: Dr. Karin Johnson!
Dr. Karin A. C. Johnson
Karin is the new Texas FSRDC Administrator in College Station, Texas. Originally hailing from west Texas (El Paso), Karin lived in central Texas while completing her undergraduate degrees in International Relations and French at Texas State University. She then lived in Paris, France for two years. She completed her Ph.D. in May 2020 in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside. She researches international migration, specifically looking at how national higher education policies shape global international student trends to the US, as well as to other countries. Karin previously worked in international development and higher education. She also spent a stint during grad school with the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) in the Financial Markets and Community Investments team.
Karin is married to a chef so when not enjoying good food, she attempts to keep her orchids alive, and she likes to hike and camp. She has two cats, Jack and Willard.
