In this ZOOM presentation Drs. Campbell and Johnson will discuss restricted-access demographic, economic, and business data, what the TXRDC is and how it provides access to restricted data, and how researchers can apply for access to restricted federal statistical data.

Bio:
Mary Campbell is the Texas FSRDC Director. She is also the co-director of the NSF-funded summer Research Experience for Undergraduates program in the Sociology department. She has been in the Sociology department at Texas A&M since 2013, when she moved here from the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on racial and ethnic inequality and the measurement of racial and ethnic categories on surveys. Her work focuses on inequality within and between categories, with a special focus on individuals and families who cross racial boundaries. |

Bio:
Karin Johnson is the Texas FSRDC Administrator in College Station, Texas. Originally hailing from west Texas (El Paso), Karin lived in central Texas while completing her undergraduate degrees in International Relations and French at Texas State University. She then lived in Paris, France for two years. She completed her Ph.D. in May 2020 in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside. She researches international migration, specifically looking at how national higher education policies shape global international student trends to the US, as well as to other countries. Karin previously worked in international development and higher education. She also spent a stint during grad school with the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) in the Financial Markets and Community Investments team. |
