Staff appreciation week: Meet the staff

Meet some of the newest members of the College of Liberal Arts staff for 2019 Staff Appreciation Week.

April 22-27 marks this year’s staff appreciation week at Texas A&M University, and we are celebrating the many wonderful staff members throughout the College. Meet some of the newest members of the College of Liberal Arts staff!  

Q’anteria Roberson

Q’anteria Roberson works as the Communications Coordinator in Strategic Communications & Development. Here are some facts about Q’anteria: 

  • She studied Mass Communication and Public Relations at Texas State University
  • She is from Navasota, Texas
  • She is currently reading Michelle Obama’s Becoming and likes to watch The Act on Hulu
  • In her free time, she loves to game on her PS4 and listen to NPR Politics and true crime podcasts
  • “My favorite thing about working for the College of Liberal Arts is the way creativity is welcomed. It’s a joy to come to work every day and get to be my most creative self!”

 

 

 

Bari Brookins 

Bari Brookins is the Program Manager for Academic Success in the Undergraduate Programs Office. Here are some facts about Bari: 

  • She is originally from Florida but moved here from Portland, OR. 
  • She earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Oklahoma Baptist University, Master of Arts in Cognitive Psychology from Florida Atlantic University, and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University 
  • She enjoys watching Midsomer Murders and is reading The Promise of a Pencil by Adam Braun 
  • Her hobbies include music, reading, and hiking (but not camping) 
  • “The thing I like best about the  College of Liberal Arts is the wide variety of majors and areas of interest that are available in the college; I’m always learning something new.”

 

 

Melanie Carson 

Melanie Carson is the Administrative Associate for the College of Liberal Arts. Here are some facts about Melanie: 

  • She has a Medical Office Assistant Certificate and a Medical Transcription and Coding Certificate from Blinn College in Bryan, Texas
  • She is currently taking classes to apply for the nursing program at Blinn College
  • In her free time, she enjoys sewing and bowling, and loves the crime genre of books and t.v. shows 
  • She is a twin
  • “My passion is to help others, and I enjoy doing just that at the College of Liberal Arts.”
