Some faculty and advisors have a “FIRST Faculty” or “FIRST Advisor” sign in their office.  While many of them are first generation themselves, this sign means that they all understand the path you’re on as a first generation student, and they are interested in acting as a resource to help you with the demanding, day-to-day navigation of your college experience.  Each FIRST mentor is a partner — a resource — that can also point you toward other resources that are here to support all students in their academic and personal success.
