CALL FOR POSTERS

Poster Submission Information

The Center for the Study of the First Americans is accepting abstracts for poster presentations and poster symposia for the Paleoamerican Odyssey Conference to be held October 14-17, 2026, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  We have space for about 400 posters.

  • Individual posters—Scholars and students are invited to present individual posters on their research at the conference.  Posters will be organized into themed sessions.
  • Poster symposium—Scholars and students are invited to organize a poster symposium consisting of a minimum of five posters.  A poster symposium can be organized on any topic related to the focus of the conference (e.g., a specific archaeological site, geographic region, paleoenvironmental records, genetic analyses, taphonomy, GIS, geoarchaeology and other methods).
Instructions for Preparing and Submitting an Individual Poster
  • Name, affiliation, email address, and phone number of the author presenting the poster.
  • Name(s) and affiliation(s) of any coauthors.
  • Title of poster (15-20 words).
  • Abstract (not to exceed 200 words).
  • Submit this information as a Word file sent via email to csfa@tamu.edu.
  • Individual Poster submissions will be reviewed.  Acceptance emails will be sent as soon as possible.
  • FINAL DEADLINE—Required information must be submitted by March 1, 2026.
Instructions for Preparing and Submitting a Poster Symposium
  • Symposium organizer name, affiliation, email address, and phone number.
  • Name(s) and affiliation(s) of any co-organizers.
  • Title of the symposium (15-20 words).
  • Abstract for the symposium (not to exceed 200 words).
  • Estimate of the number of posters in your symposium.
  • Submit this information as a Word file sent via email to csfa@tamu.edu.
  • A Poster Symposium proposal will be reviewed. Acceptance emails will be sent as soon as possible.
  • FINAL DEADLINE—A symposium proposal must be submitted by January 15, 2026 and all posters in the symposium submitted separately by the presenters by March 1, 2026.
Registration
  • The person presenting the poster must be registered for the conference.  (You can submit a poster presentation now and register later for the conference.)  You must be registered by June 1, 2026.  We will send a reminder.
What is provided
  • Easels, foam board, and pushpins for each accepted poster.
  • We do not provide tables, computers, monitors, or electronic equipment. No electricity is provided.
Information
  • Posters must fit a space that is approximately 40 inches x 30 inches.  Landscape orientation is recommended.
  • The presenting author is requested to attend the poster session to take advantage of opportunities to discuss your work with symposium participants.
  • The title, abstract, and all author information will appear in the conference program.
