What are you doing now?
“I currently work as a linguistic consultant, but am moving in April to Tokyo after falling in love with the culture (and a person) while abroad! I will teach English for a year before pursuing both my Master’s and PhD in Intercultural Communication in the Tokyo region.”
What advice would you give current and future students?
“It’s thanks to my faculty, Dr. Adams and Dr. Waugh, and the excellent study abroad and academic advising teams that I was able to go to my future home. They created an entirely new segment to the Japanese summer study abroad for me! Dr. Robertson at the Bush School allowed me to do important (paid) research for him, and all I had to do was ask if he wanted help.
Initiate the change you want to see in your life. Talk to professors about possibilities, email people you admire about internships and RA positions, and don’t limit yourself by what is traditionally done. A&M is a school of tradition, but one of our greatest traditions is innovation.”
