Vienna and Budapest Field Trip

The new Jewish Studies program at A&M is offering an immersive field trip that explores the historical, cultural, and religious significance of Vienna and Budapest within the context of Jewish heritage.

The trip aims to deepen students’ understanding of Jewish history, traditions, and contributions to these vibrant European capitals and to present examples of innovative forms of Holocaust memorialization in Central Europe.

Participants will visit important Jewish heritage sites, museums, synagogues, and engage in academic discussions to foster a holistic appreciation of the Jewish experience in Vienna and Budapest.

Included: accommodation, breakfast, some meals, ground transportation, entrance to museums and site visits, group flight from Houston to Vienna and return, events and workshops, and tours.

Note: All students are welcome to apply but priority will be given to those students planning to enroll in either JWST 201 (Introduction to Jewish Studies) or GERM 441 (Representations of the Holocaust) or who wish to become a Jewish Studies minor. Please contact trip leaders for more information.
