Overview of the WIP Workshop
The Works-In-Progress Workshop aims to cultivate a collaborative space for RESI Graduate Student Affiliates. During this 1-day in-person workshop, selected students present their works in progress and receive constructive feedback from a variety of sources (affiliated faculty, graduate students, and the greater Texas A&M community).
Projects submitted may cover a wide range of research methodologies, including qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods, policy analysis and evaluation, and transition of research into practice. Manuscripts must include race and/or ethnicity as a central focus. Students will be notified if their in-progress manuscript is accepted into the workshop approximately one week after the application deadline.
Dates to Keep in Mind
- The deadline to submit applications for consideration is September 22 by 5pm.

Students notified of submission status by September 26.

Full work-in-progress manuscript to be submitted by October 3 by noon..

Workshop is scheduled for November 7.
Requirements to Apply
Be a RESI Graduate Student Affiliate. If you are not already one, you must submit your affiliate application as well.
Be registered and in good standing in a graduate degree program at A&M as a masters or doctoral student.
Participant Expectations
Participants must be in attendance the entire length of the workshop, during which they will present their WIP manuscript (no longer than 15 minutes). Students are expected to serve as respondents for another manuscript and will deliver constructive oral feedback during the workshop.
Works In Progress Workshop Application
The application will include several questions for you to answer. You will not be required to upload any documents. Your application will require the following elements:
- Working Title of manuscript
- Abstract (250 words max)
- Manuscript History – in other words, what was this manuscript written for? Where are you intending to submit this manuscript in the future?
