Biography
Kayan Khraisheh is a doctoral student in the Department of Communication & Journalism at Texas A&M University. She earned her B.S. in Media Industries & Technology from Northwestern University in Qatar, with a certificate in Strategic Communication. Her research examines the intersection of culture, identity, and health within immigrant and diasporic communities. Recent projects include an analysis of Arab health experiences in the U.S. and an exploration of Palestinian diasporic identity through cultural and educational institutions and personal narrative. As a research assistant, she is working on a project about the development of Asian and Arab American Studies programs and the role of communication scholarship. She aims to combine multimodal and engaged methods to produce community-centered scholarship.
