Biography
Dyamon Brown (she/her) is a third year Clinical Psychology doctoral student at Texas A&M University in the Youth Rising Lab. She is also a Texas A&M Aviles-Johnson Fellow. Originally from Columbia, Mississippi, she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Mississippi. She went on to receive a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Teachers College at Columbia University. Her research interests are broadly in adolescent mental health. Specifically, her research explores the pathways linking trauma exposure to substance use and suicidal thoughts and behaviors among Black adolescents and emerging adults. Her goal is to develop culturally relevant interventions and support systems that address these critical issues.
