Biography
Kelly Pantaleon is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Educational Psychology Department at Texas A&M University. Her research interests include racial-ethnic socialization, parenting, peer relationships, and emotion regulation. She’s currently conducting a study that explores how Latinx parents and adolescents perceive parental involvement and the impact of cultural socialization, familism, and peer support on adolescent academic achievement. Kelly’s research aims to improve current practices to increase parental involvement in schools with underrepresented communities, as well as examine factors that shape individuals’ educational attainment and overall social-emotional development. Additionally, Kelly is a Dr. Dionel Aviles ’53 and Dr. James Johnson ’67 Fellow at Texas A&M University.
