CFP (Conference): Text Encoding Initiative Consortium (TEI), 24th Annual Meeting
The call for proposals is now open for the 24th Annual Meeting of Text Encoding Initiative Consortium (TEI). The conference topic, "Texts, languages, and communities", aims at highlighting the global outreach of the TEI together with its local adaptations and bringing us together as a diverse and multilingual community, where the exchange of experiences and shared learning will help us reflect on the texts we investigate, the languages we use, and the communities we create. The conference is scheduled for October 7-11, 2024 at Universidad del Salvador (USAL), Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Program Committee is pleased to announce its call for proposals for the 24th annual Conference and Members’ Meeting of the Text Encoding Initiative Consortium (TEI), which will be held October 9-11, 2024 (Wed-Fri), at the Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina; with pre-conference workshops October 7–8 (Mon-Tue).
This year’s theme is Texts, languages, and communities.
The TEI is one of the initiatives that has managed to endure over time and build an active community of users and practitioners inside and outside the Digital Humanities field. While for many years it gathered a predominantly English-speaking community, numerous projects —especially those related to digital editing— emerged during the very early days of the TEI in Spanish-speaking countries, bringing together scholars from Spain and Latin America. This conference aims at highlighting the global outreach of the TEI together with its local adaptations.

Está abierta la convocatoria para participar del Vigésimo Cuarto Congreso Anual y Reunión de Miembros del Consorcio de la Text Encoding Initiative (TEI), que se llevará a cabo del 9 al 11 de octubre de 2024 (miércoles a viernes), en la Universidad del Salvador, ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina; con talleres pre-congreso del 7 al 8 de octubre (lunes a martes).
El tema de este año es Textos, lenguas y comunidades.
La TEI es una de las iniciativas que ha logrado perdurar en el tiempo y construir una comunidad activa de usuarios dentro y fuera del campo de las Humanidades Digitales. Si bien durante muchos años reunió predominantemente a una comunidad anglófona, numerosos proyectos —especialmente aquellos relacionados con la edición digital— surgieron ya desde los primeros días de la TEI en países de habla hispana, convocando así a interesados de España y América Latina. Este congreso tiene como objetivo destacar el alcance global de la TEI junto con sus adaptaciones locales.
