A Panel and Open Conversation on HSIs

Flyer describing upcoming event, An Open Conversation on Hispanic Serving InstitutionsThe Race and Ethnic Studies Institute (RESI) invites you to attend our upcoming panel on Monday, September 19 at 12 PM CDT in LAAH 453, featuring Dr. Ishara Cassellas Connors, Dr. Felipe Hinojosa and Dr. Darrel Wanzer-Serrano. Our panel of scholars will openly interrogate the Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) designation and its impact on the higher education landscape.
The number of colleges and universities that are eligible to qualify as an HSI has rapidly increased over recent years. Texas A&M University achieved federal designation as an HSI in March 2022. This makes Texas A&M – College Station the seventh federally-designated HSI in the Texas A&M University System. As more institutions, both intentionally and unintentionally, become HSIs the competition for federal dollars intensifies.

Join us in person and get to know our panelists on Monday, September 19th. No registration is required, but there is a limited amount of seating.
