Biography

Funmilayo was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She earned her Bachelor’s in Electronic and Electrical Engineering in Nigeria. After graduation, she decided to focus on sports and worked in sports broadcasting before coming to the United States for her Master’s in Sport Management.

Funmilayo is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management at Texas A&M University. She is majoring in Sport Management and looks forward to contributing to studies in diversity, equity, and inclusion in sport. Funmilayo has a great interest in diversity and inclusion in golf, specifically the underrepresentation of people of color, women, and people with disabilities. She hopes to conduct a good number of studies in this field.

Funmilayo enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and playing soccer in her free time.
