Biography
Martin Rosales is a Ph.D. student pursing his studies in Educational Administration and Human Resource Development, focusing on Higher Education Administration at Texas A&M University. His research is centered around how queer international students of color navigate educational contexts in the United States. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies, Psychology and Sociology (2010), a graduate certificate in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language (2011) and a Master’s degree in Administration of Higher Education from Auburn University (2015).
Martin has a wealth of prior experience within international higher education at various institutional types within the United States in the following areas: education abroad advising, international student immigration advising, short-term incoming language program support and domestic / international student services. His experience is shared with future international education practitioners through presentations and invited trainings with national professional development organizations. He strives to create collective understanding of often marginalized populations, provide space for them to share testimony, and critically examine global higher education to inform future practice.
