Two-Year Postdoctoral Fellowship: University of Maryland, Department of Finance

The Finance Department at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business is offering a two‐year postdoctoral fellowship for recent graduates with a Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, or other Social Science disciplines.

Postdoctoral researchers will collaborate with faculty members. The research focus will be financing and business dynamism in the U.S., analyzing both small and entrepreneurial businesses and large incumbent firms. The primary duties include collecting data, maintaining databases, conducting statistical analysis, and providing other research support. The postdoc researcher will also assist in producing white papers.

Eligible candidates must complete their Ph.D. by July before beginning the fellowship, have at least three years of experience working with large data, and be proficient in SAS, Stata, and Python programming.

Preference will be given to those with Special Sworn Status and experience working with restricted-use Census data at the Federal Statistical Research Data Centers (FSRDCs).
