Biography

Aster Bains-Birkner (they/them/their) graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in English and double minors in Communications and Classical Studies. As the Race and Ethnic Studies Institute’s Program Coordinator, they organize and manage logistics of the office and RESI-led events. They are active in community-based organizations in their local area. When not working, Aster is often playing Dungeons & Dragons, watching improv comedy shows, or writing. Their passion lies in folklore within the context of intersectionality involving marginalized communities and storytelling practices.
