Biography

Zhuldyz Zhumashova holds PhD in Cultural Studies from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Master’s degree in Translation Studies from Ablay khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages. Currently she is doing her PhD in Cultural Anthropology at Texas A&M University.

Her research focuses on Central Asian Culture, Semiotics, Cultural anthropology, Ethnic culture, Turkic culture, Migration and repatriated Kazakhs etc.

She is the owner of the National Award «Outstanding Teacher of Kazakhstan-2022» and Young Talented Scholars of Kazakhstan-2014. Zhuldyz translated several textbooks from English into Kazakh and worked as a remote translator for National Geographic Kazakhstan.
