  • TAMU Events (Online): Webinar Series, “Hear from Peers: Navigating AI in the Classroom” (Weekly, 01/22/24 – 04/29/24)

    The Center for Teaching Excellence invites TAMU faculty, staff, and graduate students to attend a series of webinars for Spring 2024 entitled "Hear from Peers: Navigating AI in the Classroom". This workshop series invites faculty members from diverse disciplines to come together and explore the multifaceted landscape of generative AI. Webinars are scheduled weekly from January 24 to April 29, 2024.

  • TAMU Event (In-person, Online): “DH Project Showcase” (01/31/24)

    The Center of Digital Humanities Research (CoDHR) is hosting a “DH Project Showcase” for Principal Investigators to present their digital research to Texas A&M faculty, staff, and students. The showcase will be broken up into presentation slots of 30-minutes. Faculty, staff, and students of all experience and interest levels are welcome to attend. The showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 12:30 to 4:00 PM in the Humanities Visualization Space (LAAH 433) and online via Zoom.

  • TAMU Event (In-person): “DH Pedagogy Workshop” with Dr. Shawna Ross

    The Digital Humanities Working Group (DHWG) is hosting a workshop led by Dr. Shawna Ross, "DH Pedagogy Workshop", to educate Texas A&M faculty, staff, and students about how to effectively use DH in the classroom. The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM in the Glasscock Library (Glasscock Building 311).

  • TAMU Event (In-person): Dr. Jentery Sayers, “Degrowing Digital Projects” Lecture (11/15/23)

    The Center of Digital Humanities Research is hosting Dr. Jentery Sayers as part of its Digital Humanities Speaker Series 2023-24 to present his lecture "Degrowing Digital Projects". This talk draws from recent research in activity theory and minimal computing as well as allied fields, such as game studies, to address the “degrowth” of digital projects from the labor perspective. All interested faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend. This event is scheduled for November 15, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at the Liberal Arts & Humanities Building, Room 453.

    The Center of Digital Humanities Research is hosting Dr. Jentery Sayers as part of its Digital Humanities Speaker Series 2023-24. This event is a casual coffee and chat with Dr. Sayers for members of the Digital Humanities Working Group (DHWG) as well as any interested faculty, staff, and students. This event is scheduled for November 15, 2023 from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at the Liberal Arts & Humanities Building, Room 326.

  • TAMU Event (In-person, Online): TxGIS Day 2023 (11/13/23 – 11/17/23)

    Texas A&M University is hosting TxGIS Day 2023, a five-day conference of GIS workshops, presentations, and panels! TxGIS Day events are free to attend for all faculty, staff, students, and members of the public, however registration is required. The event is scheduled for November 13-17, 2023 with a majority of the sessions taking place in a hybrid format.

  • TAMU Event: “Pursuing and Presenting DH in the Academy” Workshop with Dr. Amy Earhart (11/01/23)

    Join us to learn from Dr. Amy Earhart on how to present digital humanities work from graduate school to your future career, including how to discuss your digital humanities work with your dissertation committee, colleagues, and more. This event is scheduled for November 1, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Glasscock Center Library (Glasscock Building 311).

  • TAMU Event: Digital Humanities Working Group, General Meeting (10/27/23)

    The next regular meeting of the Digital Humanities Working Group (DHWG) will be a discussion, led by Dr. Katayoun Torabi, on Johanna Drucker's "Digital Humanities Overview" from The Digital Humanities Coursebook (2021). This reading is available digitally via the TAMU Libraries' website. This event is scheduled for October 27, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the Glasscock Center Library (Glasscock Building 311).

  • TAMU Event (In-person, Online): “Protecting Intellectual Property” Seminar (10/16/23)

    Texas A&M Innovation is hosting an educational seminar on protecting intellectual property. The presenters will review the standard patent process and discuss recent topics impacting IP protection, including how artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT can constitute an unexpected public disclosure, as well as how IP relates to sponsored research. The event will include presentations by staff from Innovation and Sponsored Research Services, as well as an external expert in IP law. The seminar is followed by open Q&A and time for one-on-one networking. The event is scheduled for October 16, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM online, or at the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship, 1700 Research Parkway, Suite 130.
