Welcome to the website of the Department of Philosophy at Texas A&M University!
The programs in philosophy at Texas A&M University are structured to provide students with the skills necessary to appreciate more fully the central concerns of human existence and develop abilities in problem-solving, communication, persuasion, writing, and critical thinking.
Today, the department contains 25 full-time faculty members actively pursuing research in areas such as American Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, Epistemology, Applied and Professional Ethics, Continental Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, the History of Philosophy, Philosophy of Logic and Metaphysics. The department currently offers a B.A. degree and undergraduate minor, a M.A. degree and a Ph.D. degree. Currently, the department has approximately 115 undergraduate majors, 90 undergraduate minors and 25 graduate students.
