The Department of Philosophy features diverse research specializations. As of fall 2015, we are ranked 44 in the United States with placement in Philosophy of Logic; Decision, Rational Choice and Game Theory; Philosophy of Mathematics; Philosophy of Race; and American Pragmatism by The Philosophical Gourmet, and in Africana Philosophy, American Philosophy, Continental Philosophy, and Latin American Philosophy by The Pluralists’ Guide. More specifically, the department has clusters of faculty actively pursuing research in each of the areas listed below.
