Bio
Mary Landry is a doctoral student specializing in disability and pedagogy studies within the English department at Texas A&M University. Inspired by her personal experience with Usher’s Syndrome—a genetic condition affecting hearing and eyesight—Mary’s research often centers on questions of embodiment, accessibility, passing, and constructions of deafness. With this research, Mary aims to contribute to critical conservations around disability, as well as accessible pedagogical approaches that empower students in the English classroom and beyond.
