ABOUT: Faculty, graduate students and undergraduates are invited to apply for grants to support speakers of pre-eminent reputation for interdisciplinary scholarship, whose presence on campus will both promote the humanities and  contribute broadly to the intellectual community. (Applications for  support of other speakers may be made under the Glasscock Center’s Co-sponsorship Grant Program.) We also encourage applications which connect with diverse communities through publicly engaged scholarship. No single award will exceed *$5,000 (*proposals submitted in Spring 2022 may receive a maximum of $6,000). Funds may be used toward honoraria (up to $1,500 per person), travel expenses of the participant(s), publicity costs, technical expenses, and rental of space. No more than **$2,500 (**a maximum of $3,000 for proposals submitted in Spring 2022) will be provided to support speakers at meetings of professional organizations or societies. Applicants are expected to seek funding from other sources besides the Glasscock Center. Potential applicants are urged to discuss their proposals in advance with a member of the Glasscock Center Advisory Committee. We ask that applicants for all Glasscock Center grants read our Climate and Inclusion Statement here

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants should verify that their event does not conflict with the dates of major Center events by checking with our web calendar prior to the submission of an application (the Center will not fund events that conflict with our Book Prize Lecture, Buttrill Ethics events, or other major symposia or lectures). In order to be eligible for funding, events must be free and open to the public. Preference may be given to individuals who have not received funding under this program in the last two years and to events held on the Texas A&M University campus. Requests to support events scheduled for the semester in which application is made will not be considered.

Attach a current c.v. (or equivalent documentation) for the proposed speaker to the application.

Applications will be considered incomplete until all information has been received, at which time an e-mail confirming receipt will be sent to you.

Thursday, 4 November 2021, 5:00 p.m.

Applicants are normally notified of award decisions by three weeks from the application deadline.

We recommend answering application questions in a Word document and saving it for your records before pasting it into our form for submission.
