In the name of God Amen I Thomas Alder of Pt Royall in the island aforesaid Marriner though at this point I am through mercy in pfect health yet being designed out on a voyage Todea am desirous of setting my affaires after the best means. I came afoot not knowing what may befallow I doe herely make publish ordain and declare this psent instrument of writing to be my last will and testament moreover and forme follow my Imps [imprevious: now on to the matter at hand]. My pretious and imortale soule I honourbly recommit into the hour of Almighty God my healer wholly relying upon the all afficient/affecionate (?) ____ of my deare Saviour & redeemer les as Christ hopeing through faith in him my soule shall hereafter enjoy eternale bless, for the burial of my body not knowing whereshow I may dye. I leave it wholly to the care and discresion of my Christian friends there psent. And for the small percen worldly interest which Almighty God hath lent me my funerall expenses and all my just debts being duely paid and satisfied. I doe give and bequeath in manner and form following Item that is toe my into my well beloved wife Sarah Alder now living in Port Royall aforesaid I doe give grant and bequeath all and singular my Estate reale and psenall [personal] whatsoever in this Island and elsewhere as alive all other my goods chattells [property, money, goods] rights debts and Creditts whatsoever to me in acquire due oweing or belonging the whole be at my [said] wife Sarah free dispos all from and after my decease and I doe by therefour into hereby nominate make appoint and declare my said wife Sarah to be my sole Executrix to see this my last will testasment duely performed and I doe farther in and by this aforemets [aforementioned] utterly revoke and disawill all former wills what soever by me at any time is in any manner made in conformacion of which I have hereinto sett my hands and seale this fourteenth Day of december in the third yeare of the reigne of the sovereigh Lord King James the second of England &c and have accordingly Published & disclosed the same as my last will and teste In psence of the under written _____ ______ of dec 1687
